Job summary

The City of Anaheim Planning and Building Department seeks an experienced Building Inspector III to join the Building Services team. This role performs advanced inspections on complex commercial, industrial, mixed-use, and multi-story construction projects, interpreting codes and guiding field staff.

Ideal candidates hold ICC certification in at least three disciplines and a valid California Driver’s License by appointment.

Qualifications

• Experience: journey level building inspections.
• ICC certification: certification in at least three disciplines required.
• California Driver’s License valid by appointment date.
• Ability to read blueprints, plans, and specifications and ensure code compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex combination inspections on large-scale projects.
• Interpret and apply building codes accurately with courtesy and tact.
• Conduct structural safety investigations and document findings.
• Provide guidance to other inspectors and act as a technical resource for inspections.
