Job summary

UG2 in Boston, MA seeks a Chief Engineer to lead the engineering team, ensuring 100% uptime while safely and efficiently operating building systems. The role focuses on reliability-based maintenance, equipment inspection, and regulatory compliance, delivering value through proactive management of mechanical and electrical infrastructure.

The Chief Engineer will supervise staff, coordinate with contractors, drive safety programs, and maintain documentation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional education.
One-year certificate or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Universal CFC certification is required.
HVAC technical degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitors operation and maintains HVAC and related systems; reviews logs and reports malfunctions.
Manages inventory of tools and supplies; processes purchasing and stock checks.
Oversees contractors working in the building; ensures safety and compliance.
Identifies safety hazards and administers safety training programs.
Ensures regulatory compliance and maintains infrastructure documentation.
Supervises engineers and maintenance staff; supports staff development.
