Job summary

Hines is seeking a Building Lead Engineer in Hartford, CT to lead daily operations of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems. You will oversee maintenance, lifecycle improvements, and life-safety activities while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company standards.

You will manage the crew schedule, coordinate with external contractors, and participate in training and budgeting efforts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Connecticut D2/S2 license preferred.
• Strong knowledge of operating building systems and safety practices.
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, organizational and communication skills.
• Proven troubleshooting ability for mechanical, electrical and plumbing issues.
• Proficiency with building automation, IT tools and office software.

Responsibilities

• Operate mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC equipment per guidelines.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on building systems.
• Adjust fire alarm and life safety systems as directed.
• Maintain records, logs and spreadsheets; reduce callbacks.
• Lead crew and coordinate scheduling with contractors.
• Participate in emergency procedures and staff training.
• Assist with budgeting, long-range planning and procurement.
• Respond to tenant requests with professionalism and timeliness.
