Job summary

Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco is seeking an experienced Building Engineer or Sr. Building Engineer to ensure safe, reliable operation of building systems.

The role requires hands-on technical skills, strong trouble-shooting abilities, and the ability to respond effectively to routine maintenance and emergencies. Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Typically 5–6 years of related experience in large commercial facilities.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and schematics.
• Experience with chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and building systems.
• Knowledge of Building Automation Systems and related software.
• EPA 608 certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot major building systems including HVAC, electrical, and life-safety.
• Monitor alarms and anomalies; perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Maintain accurate logs, readings, and work orders.
• Coordinate with contractors for specialized maintenance and repairs.
• Respond to emergencies and after-hours on-call requirements.
