Job summary

Bradford Allen is seeking a Lead Building Engineer to oversee maintenance teams across a portfolio of properties and to perform complex preventive maintenance and repairs of HVAC/R and building automation systems. Occasional overtime and Saturday work are required.

You will supervise engineering staff, plan and schedule services, and coordinate with property management to maintain safe, efficient mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Qualifications

• Ideal candidate must have strong HVAC background.
• Prefer 5+ years progressive Stationary Engineer experience.
• Ability to read and analyze Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing drawings.
• Working under limited supervision, monitors building system operations and performance.
• Utilizes several trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling.
• Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office suite.
• Ability to work as a user with BAS program or similar Preventative Maintenance and Tenant Request program experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides supervision and is responsible for the implementation of all preventive maintenance and repair operations at the facility.
• Plans and schedules services of department; enforces standards and methods; evaluates results and looks for efficiency improvements.
• Work in close cooperation with the Engineering Leadership team and property management; maintains communication on property conditions.
• Inspects, operates, and maintains boilers, heating and ventilating equipment to ensure reliable operation.
• Maintain mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment to provide a properly conditioned space.
• Ensure systems operate efficiently within energy management programs.
• Performs assigned repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance; documents maintenance records.
• On-call engineer to respond to service calls; supports Tenant/Capital Improvement work.
• Read blueprints/diagrams, recommend parts, and install/repair mechanical systems as needed.
