Job summary

Family & Children’s Services is seeking an on-site Lead Building Engineer to oversee HVAC and building systems, lead a maintenance team, and ensure safe, compliant operations. You’ll supervise preventive maintenance, coordinate repairs with vendors, and train technicians while driving quality workmanship.

The role requires a high school diploma, technical training, and at least three years of hands-on experience in commercial HVAC and building automation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical education preferred.
• Minimum three years of HVAC and building systems hands-on experience.
• Experience mentoring technicians and coordinating maintenance work is favored.
• Experience in healthcare, nonprofit, or human services environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate, inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair HVAC and building systems.
• Coordinate daily work, provide technical guidance, and train staff.
• Respond to service requests, manage preventive maintenance, and document findings.
• Ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and quality workmanship.
• Collaborate with facilities leadership on emergencies and major projects.
