Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Controls Service Technician 5 to service, repair, design, configure, and operate complete HVAC building control systems and sub-systems at customer facilities. You will develop complex software, commission systems, and prepare submittals to support design and operation.

Role requires minimum 5 years in programming and commissioning, Metasys expertise, and strong knowledge of electrical/mechanical drawings and building automation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience with programming, installing, and/or commissioning controls systems, including system-level controllers.
• 5 years of Metasys experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of the construction, service mechanical, electrical, or HVAC service industry.
• Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical drawings, electrical wiring diagrams, control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems, and other building subsystems.
• Demonstrated experience integrating low-voltage building sub-systems using industry protocols such as Modbus, LON, and BACnet.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, service, and troubleshoot technically complex building control systems at customer facilities.
• Create flow diagrams, sequences of operation, bills of material, network layouts, and electrical schematics as needed for service, repair, or installation work.
• Develop, test, and adjust software programs required to operate systems according to customer facility requirements.
• Coordinate drawings, equipment schedules, and submittals to support service execution and project documentation.
• Load and commission system-level and network-level controllers, then verify complete system functionality.
• Troubleshoot system and field issues with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.
