Job summary

Johnson Controls is hiring for an HVAC controls engineer to design hardware and software for Metasys-based systems. You will interface with customers, consultants, and field teams to ensure proper operation and commissioning of controllers.

Responsibilities include creating drawings and schedules, coordinating submittals, and assisting in on-site installation while maintaining safety standards and delivering clear documentation.

Qualifications

• Three+ years installing/commissioning Metasys systems and system-level controllers.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
• Excellent computer skills including CAD/Drafting tools.
• Experience with designing or evaluating building mechanical/electrical systems or controls is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design hardware and software for HVAC control systems per project requirements.
• Provide submittals and documentation for customers, consultants, and field teams.
• Coordinate drawings, equipment schedules, and BOMs for submittals and installation.
• Order and track materials; coordinate factory-mounting processes.
• Assist in loading, commissioning, and validation of control systems.
• Prepare as-built drawings and software; maintain project documentation.
• Support owner/operator training and ensure safety standards are followed.
