Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) in Goleta, CA is seeking a Lead Critical Infrastructure Controls Engineer to design, program, troubleshoot, and maintain building automation systems across campuses.

The role requires 5–7 years in the field, deep HVAC/electrical/mechanical knowledge, thorough documentation, with on-site responsibilities and potential travel. You will oversee controls architecture and collaborate with JLL IOT/BOS teams to optimize performance.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in relevant field.
• Clear written communication and ability to explain work to others.
• Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Experience interpreting, modifying, and developing mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Proficient in programming and troubleshooting building automation systems.
• Proficient in Windows Server environments.
• Knowledge of industry codes and regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the controls systems architecture for critical infrastructure across multiple campuses to ensure design consistency.
• Manage onsite Controls Engineer and associated vendors.
• Respond to critical building and lab infrastructure emergencies, complying with SLAs.
• Collaborate with Engineering Team to assist in design and implement building automation systems.
• Collaborate with JLL IOT and BOS Teams on projects and remediations.
• Conduct root cause analysis on system failures and bugs.
• Support daily operations, opex and capex projects across campuses.
• Ensure compliance with codes and regulations during system installations and programming.
