Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. seeks an experienced Building Controls Engineer to design, configure, and service HVAC and low-voltage systems at NBAF, Manhattan, KS. You’ll develop software, create submittals, and coordinate with the Sales and Service teams to ensure reliable operation.

The role requires deep knowledge of building automation, control theory and integration of sub-systems, with a strong focus on safety and on-site execution.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience with a High School Diploma or8+ years with a bachelor’s in engineering.
• Knowledge of construction/service/HVAC industry.
• Knowledge of control theory and building automation systems.
• Experience integrating low voltage building subsystems using protocols (LON, BACnet).
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Designs, configures and services complex building control systems for the facility.
• Creates diagrams, BOMs, network layouts, schedules and electrical schematics.
• Develops and tests software to operate the system per facility requirements.
• Coordinates drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and services.
• Sleeps in material orders and tracks delivery for assigned jobs.
• Assists in loading and commissioning of system and network controllers.
• Validates full system functionality and coordinates with subcontractors.
• Provides field change information for as-built drawings and software.
