Qualifications

• Degree in Business or equivalent typically required.
• Minimum 2.5 years of progressive underwriting experience, typically 3+ years.
• CPCU or professional insurance designation preferred.
• Proven analytical ability to evaluate and judge underwriting risks with qualitative and quantitative tools.

Responsibilities

• Manages a portfolio of brokers, agents, contractors, developers, owners, and other construction-related clients while developing profitable Builders' Risk business.
• Evaluates project plans, budgets, construction schedules, valuations, contracts, loss history, site conditions, catastrophe exposures, contractor experience, and risk-control measures.
• Determines appropriate coverage terms, conditions, limits, deductibles, exclusions, and pricing for commercial, residential, infrastructure, renovation, and specialty construction projects.
• Maintains strong relationships with agents and brokers, strengthens existing partnerships, develops new opportunities, and represents Liberty Mutual effectively in the marketplace.
• Monitors evolving project exposures, including construction delays, changes in scope or values, occupancy transitions, fire, theft, water damage, windstorm, flood, earthquake, collapse, and other Builders' Risk loss drivers.
• Collaborates with UW Support, Claims, Actuarial, Risk Engineering, Product, Legal, and Directors of Underwriting in GRS North America; contributes to product, process, and underwriting tool improvements.
• Mentors junior underwriters and new hires, analyzes portfolio performance, and communicates emerging construction and Builders' Risk trends, underwriting recommendations, and opportunities for profitable growth.
