Job summary

1X is hiring for a senior Build Engineer to own and scale automated build and release infrastructure across robotics, cloud, embedded, and simulation platforms. You will design reliable CI/CD pipelines, optimize performance, and push release automation to accelerate delivery.

You will work with multiple software teams to standardize workflows, improve developer productivity, and enable fast, safe software ships across the company’s evolving platform stack.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional experience in Build Engineering, Release Engineering, DevOps, or Platform Engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong programming experience in Python, Go, Bash, or similar scripting and automation languages.
• Hands‑on experience building and maintaining CI/CD systems using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Buildkite, Bazel, Buck2, CMake, or similar build systems.
• Experience supporting Linux-based development environments and distributed software engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Own and scale automated build and release infrastructure powering software development across 1X.
• Design highly reliable CI/CD systems and optimize build performance.
• Improve release automation and establish engineering workflows for safe and efficient shipping across robotics, cloud, embedded, and simulation platforms.
• Partner with software teams to standardize development workflows and improve productivity.
