Job summary

DoorDash is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Code Scalability team to own and evolve build systems and CI across the company. You will work on Bazel configuration, toolchains, Buildkite orchestration, and the services that support them, ensuring efficient, scalable pipelines across a large monorepo.

You will mentor teammates, lead cross-team improvements, and apply data-driven approaches to reduce latency, improve reliability, and provide actionable diagnostics for engineers building

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with developer infrastructure, build systems, or CI platforms.
• Experience with Bazel, Buildkite, or large monorepos and related tooling.
• Led cross-team technical projects and carried changes through rollout and operational ownership.

Responsibilities

• Evolve build and CI workflows for large monorepos, curbing queue times and scaling as dependencies grow.
• Develop Bazel rules, toolchains, and integrations to improve reproducibility across teams.
• Improve Buildkite throughput and reliability and optimize CI compute usage.
• Reduce redundant build work via dependency analysis, incremental builds, caching, and parallel execution.
• Build developer tools to diagnose failures and reproduce CI behavior locally.
• Rethink build/CI platform with AI for smart diagnosis, triage, and guided recovery.
• Instrument and operate CI infra with metrics to reduce latency and improve reliability.
• Lead platform improvements from design through rollout and mentor teammates.
