Job summary

DoorDash is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Code Scalability team to own and evolve build and CI platforms at massive scale. You will design Bazel configurations, Buildkite orchestration, and caching strategies, while enabling teams to ship faster with reliable infrastructure.

You will mentor teammates, drive cross-team improvements, and apply AI-driven ideas to diagnose failures and accelerate developer workflows. Strong communication and ownership are expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including building developer infrastructure, build systems, or CI platforms.
• Strong debugging and software design skills in Go/Java/Kotlin/Python.
• Experience with build/CI systems at scale; Bazel/Buildkite experience is highly relevant.

Responsibilities

• Evolve build and CI workflows for large monorepos, keeping feedback fast as dependencies and teams grow.
• Develop Bazel rules, toolchains, and integrations to improve reproducibility.
• Improve Buildkite throughput and reliability by reducing queue times and bottlenecks.
• Lead platform improvements from design through rollout and mentor teammates.
