Job summary

Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT) seeks an Entry Level Structural/Bridge Engineer to join the Columbus, OH office. The role supports design/analysis, inspections, and plan development for bridge and structural projects with traditional and alternative delivery methods. May start May 2027 after graduation.

The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering degree (ABET), willingness to learn, strong communication, and ability to work collaboratively with staff and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• EIT preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Prior internship experience is a plus.
• Willingness to perform hands-on bridge condition inspection and comfortable with heights.
• Ability to learn or proficiency with bridge analysis and design software.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience with MS Office (Word and Excel).
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers and managers.

Responsibilities

• Support structural and bridge design and analysis, plan development, and CAD support.
• Hands-on inspection of structural elements and bridge condition inspection.
• Coordinate with other discipline staff and attend project meetings.
• Generate design reports and studies; assist with project pursuit work.
