Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Bridge/Structural Engineer for our Richmond or Virginia Beach, VA office. You will lead bridge design tasks, perform field inspections, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring compliance with project specifications.

Responsibilities include developing plans with CAD, performing structural analyses, and preparing technical studies and documents. Multi-state licensure and a proactive, detail-focused mindset are preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
5-7 years of relevant post-education experience in engineering and prior structural or civil design experience.
Engineer license required (multi-state preferred).
Proficient in engineering analysis, design, and practices, including rehabilitation and new design.

Responsibilities

Develop and draft plans and details using CAD software for project design documents.
Field inspection and condition assessment of bridges, sign structures, culverts and retaining walls.
Preparation of quantity and cost estimates.
Preparation of structural analysis and design calculations.
Review of drawings to ensure compliance with design intent and specifications.
