Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Bridge/Structural Engineer for our Richmond or Virginia Beach, VA offices. The role focuses on leading bridge design, drafting, and evaluation within the Transportation Team.

You will perform analyses, prepare designs and cost estimates, and supervise junior staff while ensuring code compliance and safe, durable structures. Travel to project sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering is required.
• Engineer license is required (multi-state preferred).
• Proficient in engineering analysis, design and practice, including rehabilitation and new design.

Responsibilities

• Perform senior professional bridge/structural engineering work including development and drafting of plans and details using CAD software.
• Field inspection and condition assessment of bridges, sign structures, culverts and retaining walls.
• Preparation of quantity and cost estimates and design calculations.
• Review of drawings to ensure compliance with design intent and specifications.
• Mentor junior engineers and assist senior staff as needed.
