Job summary
WSP USA is seeking a Senior Bridge/Structural Engineer to join our Transportation Team in Richmond, VA or Virginia Beach, VA. You will lead design and drafting activities, perform inspections, assess structural conditions, and develop estimates and calculations for projects.
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Structural or Civil Engineering with 5–7 years of relevant experience and a professional engineer license is preferred. U.S. work authorization is required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in structural or civil engineering is required.
- 5–7 years of post-education experience in structural or civil design.
- Engineer license required (multi-state preferred).
- Experience with design/build is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Perform senior professional bridge/structural engineering work including development and drafting of plans using CAD for project design documents.
- Conduct field inspections and condition assessments of bridges and related structures.
- Prepare quantity, cost estimates and structural analysis calculations.
- Review drawings for conformance with design intent and specs.
- Mentor junior engineers and support more experienced staff.
