Job summary

STV is seeking an experienced Senior Bridge Engineer/Project Manager in the Virginia Transportation Group, with flexibility for Richmond, VA and the Virginia Beach area. You will lead diverse bridge projects from planning through closeout, supervise and mentor engineers, coordinate with clients and public stakeholders, and drive design excellence and schedule adherence.

The role emphasizes client-facing leadership, technical rigor, and growth within a collaborative, stable firm.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with PE license in Virginia.
8+ years of experience in structural design for highway bridges.
Experience with highway, pedestrian bridge structures and retaining walls.
Familiarity with VDOT standards, processes, and project delivery.
Strong communication and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

Serve as Technical Lead and/or Project Manager on bridge/transportation projects.
Lead planning, design, construction support, and closeout phases.
Act as client-facing representative in meetings with agencies and stakeholders.
Develop project scopes, schedules, cost estimates, and specs.
Mentor engineers and technicians; collaborate to solve challenges.
Review plans for standards compliance and permitting.
Contribute to business development, proposals, and technical write-ups.
Shape project delivery strategies and drive continuous improvement.
