Job summary

Otak is seeking an experienced Bridge/Structural Engineer to join our Redmond, WA office. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers, planners, architects, and clients to design bridges, retaining walls, and other structures for public and private clients, balancing form, safety, sustainability, and constructability.

The role leads structural analysis and design, guides junior engineers, and coordinates project delivery from conception through construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Licensed Washington Civil or Structural Engineer or ability to licensure within 6 months of hire.
• 7–10 years of proven bridge and structural engineering experience.
• Demonstrated client services and business development skills.
• Leadership, strong written and verbal communication, and collaboration across teams.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and structural software such as LPILE, PGSuper, and MIDAS.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead structural engineering for bridges and related structures for public and private clients.
• Perform design services to meet local, state, and federal standards.
• Prepare and lead construction plans using AutoCAD.
• Conduct site inspections of structural elements.
• Lead bridge inspections and load rating reviews if qualified.
• Plan and coordinate projects with limited supervision.
• Assist in assigning duties and schedules to team members.
• Support proposals, scope, schedule, and budget; foster client relationships.
