Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer - Bridges in Troy, New York to lead and perform structural analysis, design, site-work, and reviews for bridge-focused infrastructure projects in public and private sectors. You will develop construction plans, model designs, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (or closely related discipline).
• 5 to 7 years of relevant post education experience in structural engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer in New York State or able to obtain via reciprocity.
• Proficient knowledge of structural engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and application to project work-related issues.
• Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management; including rehabilitation and new design projects.
• Working knowledge of sustainability concepts and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Determine methods for collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from sites, surveys, plans, GIS data, and other matrices for design and construction.
• Perform structural engineering work, inspect proposed and existing site conditions and structures to meet standards.
• Develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates; coordinate with owners and clients.
• Develop modeling techniques and design requirements for safe and functional end-users and future-ready solutions.
• Lead or work within cross-functional teams to execute projects and guide junior engineers.
• Provide guidance and training to entry-level engineers and interns.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations to explain findings and recommendations.
