Job summary

Artheon is a New Jersey-based multidisciplinary engineering and consulting firm delivering transportation infrastructure for public and private clients in the region. Our structural group supports bridges ranging from replacements to rehabilitations, often for NJDOT and NJTA, with constructability considerations and staged work.

We’re growing and seeking an experienced Structural Project Manager to elevate our bridge practice, lead teams, and deliver high-quality designs on schedule.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering; M.S. preferred.
• Professional Engineer license in New Jersey, or ability to obtain licensure within six months.
• Twelve or more years of progressive experience in bridge and transportation structural engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to manage project scope, budgets, schedules, staffing, and multiple concurrent assignments.
• Strong knowledge of LRFD methodologies and experience delivering transportation projects per AASHTO, NJDOT, and NJTA.
• Experience with bridge analysis, design, and load-rating software such as AASHTOWare BrR/BrD, Bentley LARS and OpenBridge, PennDOT programs (ABLRFD, STLRFD, BXLRFD), NSBA Splice.
• Proficiency with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience with bridge rehabilitation and replacement, staged construction, constructability evaluations, and construction support.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead client meetings, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and explain technical recommendations clearly.
• Proven ability to mentor engineers, delegate effectively, resolve project issues, and meet deadlines while maintaining strong quality control.

Responsibilities

• Project Management: Manage bridge and transportation structural projects from planning through final design and construction support.
• Technical Leadership: Lead LRFD-based analysis and design of steel and concrete bridges and related structures.
• Design Delivery: Direct and review structural calculations, load ratings, plans, and specifications.
• Client and Agency Coordination: Serve as primary project contact and lead project meetings with stakeholders.
• Structural Assessments: Lead condition evaluations and load ratings according to NJDOT and NJ Turnpike standards.
• Quality Management: Implement QA/QC procedures and maintain templates and guidance.
• Team Leadership and Mentorship: Oversee work and mentor junior engineers.
• Business Development: Support proposals, scope development, and client relationships.
• Field and Construction Support: Conduct site visits and oversee RFIs, shop drawings, and construction issues.
