Job summary

Artheon is seeking a Structural Project Manager to lead bridge and transportation structural projects from planning through construction support in New Jersey. You will oversee scope, budget, schedule, staffing, and deliverables while guiding multidisciplinary teams to meet high-quality design standards.

The ideal candidate brings 12+ years in bridge/transportation engineering, NJ PE licensure or near-term plan, and strong leadership with proficiency in LRFD methods and software tools.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering; M.S. preferred.
• Professional Engineer license in New Jersey, or ability to obtain licensure within six months.
• Twelve or more years of progressive experience in bridge and transportation structural engineering, including responsibility for project delivery and team leadership.
• Ability to manage project scope, budgets, schedules, staffing, and multiple concurrent assignments.
• Strong knowledge of LRFD methodologies and experience with AASHTO, NJDOT, and NJTA criteria.
• Experience with bridge analysis, design, and load-rating software (BrR/BrD, LARS, OpenBridge, ABLRFD/STLRFD/BXLRFD, NSBA Splice).
• Proficiency with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D for plan development/review.
• Experience with bridge rehabilitation/replacement, staged construction, constructability evaluations, and construction support.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to lead meetings and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams.
• Proven ability to mentor engineers and maintain quality control.

Responsibilities

• Manage bridge and transportation structural projects from planning through final design and construction support.
• Lead LRFD-based analysis and design of bridges and related structures per AASHTO/NJDOT/NJTA standards.
• Direct and review structural calculations, load ratings, plans, specifications, and estimates.
• Coordinate with clients and reviewing agencies; lead project meetings and resolve technical issues.
• Perform condition evaluations and develop rehabilitation/replacement recommendations.
• Establish QA/QC procedures and improve templates and technical guidance.
• Provide team leadership, assign work, and mentor junior/mid-level engineers.
• Support business development with scope development and client relationship management.
• Occasionally participate in field visits and construction oversight in New Jersey.
