Job summary

Volkert Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Certified Bridge Inspector for our Southeast Region, covering Maitland, FL and other Florida locations.

The role focuses on performing thorough bridge inspections, both topside and underwater, and developing detailed inspection reports. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of bridge inspection experience, familiarity with national inspection methods, and proficiency in Word/Excel.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of bridge and/or ancillary inspection experience is required.
• Understanding of national bridge inspection methods, SNBI evaluations, and report preparation is required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Understanding of FDOT applications is preferred
• Ability to travel out of state; overnight stays may be required
• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
• Operation of areal platforms such as bucket trucks and under bridge inspection vehicles is preferred
• Dive training and certification are preferred but not required
• Boat operation skills are preferred
• FHWA/NHI 130055 Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges completion is required; 130053 refresher training preferred if completed over 5 years ago
• FHWA/NHI 130078, 130091, 130087 trainings are highly preferred
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory MVR
• Pre-employment drug screening required
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening

Responsibilities

• Perform bridge inspection, topside and underwater, of culverts to large bridges and related structures.
• Develop inspection reports and perform reviews.
• Office tasks include report writing, data entry, and document review.
