Job summary

Volkert, Inc. in Florida seeks a Senior Certified Bridge Inspector to support the Southeast Region across Maitland, Tampa, Miami, or Sunrise. The role includes inspecting bridges, writing reports, and training junior inspectors as needed.

The candidate must have at least 5 years of bridge inspection experience, knowledge of SNBI, and proficiency with Word and Excel. Some travel and working at heights are required; FDOT experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of bridge and/or ancillary inspection experience is required.
• Understanding of national bridge inspection methods, SNBI, evaluations, and report preparation is required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Understanding of FDOT applications is preferred
• Ability to travel out of state, overnight stays may be required
• Ability to climb ladders, and work at heights.
• Operation of areal platforms such as bucket trucks and under bridge inspection vehicles is preferred
• Dive training and certification are preferred but not required
• Boat operation skills are preferred.
• FHWA/NHI inspection courses completion required or preferred if completed within last 5 years

Responsibilities

• Perform bridge inspection, topside and underwater, of culverts to large bridges and ancillary structures.
• Develop inspection reports and review
• Office responsibilities include report writing, review and data entry
