Volkert Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Certified Bridge Inspector to support our Southeast Region, with flexible locations in Maitland, Tampa, Miami, or Sunrise, Florida.

The role involves performing bridge safety inspections, writing and reviewing reports, and assisting in training assistant inspectors. You will travel to bridges across Florida and potentially nationwide to support structural assessments.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of bridge and/or ancillary inspection experience is required.
• Understanding of national bridge inspection methods and SNBI
• Proficient in Word and Excel
• FDOT applications knowledge preferred
• Valid driver’s license and MVR required
• Ability to travel and stay overnight as needed
• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
• FHWA/NHI certifications preferred if not completed recently

Responsibilities

• Perform bridge inspection, topside and underwater, on a range of structures from culverts to large bridges
• Develop and review inspection reports
• Assist with training of assistant inspectors; data entry and report writing
