Job summary

Volkert Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Certified Bridge Inspector to support the Southeast Region, based in Maitland, FL, with travel to Tampa, Miami, Sunrise, and other Florida sites.

The role entails inspecting bridges, writing and reviewing reports, and assisting with training for junior inspectors. The candidate will manage inspections across diverse bridge types, maintain rigorous safety and reporting standards, and collaborate with the team to ensure quality deliverables.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of bridge/ancillary inspection experience.
• Understanding of SNBI, nationwide bridge inspection methods, evaluations and report prep.
• Ability to travel out of state; overnight stays may be required.
• Able to climb ladders and work at heights.
• Experience operating aerial platforms (bucket trucks) preferred.
• FHWA/NHI 130055 Safety Inspection training completed; refresher training 130053 preferred if older than 5 years.
• Diving and boat operation skills preferred.
• Pre-employment drug screening required.
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory MVR.

Responsibilities

• Perform bridge inspections topside and underwater across a range of structures.
• Develop inspection reports and reviews.
• Office duties include report writing, data entry and file review.
