Job summary

H&H is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead the design of fixed and movable bridges in Portland, ME. You will oversee project teams, develop construction documents, and mentor junior staff.

The role includes field visits and coordination with multiple disciplines to deliver high-quality infrastructure projects. We value a PE license (ME/NH preferred) and at least eight years of bridge-focused structural engineering experience, with proficiency in FEM tools and state/federal codes.

Qualifications

• Eight years of structural engineering experience with a focus on bridge design.
• PE license required (ME or NH preferred).
• Experience in conceptual, preliminary, and final design and plan production of bridges following Federal and State codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of fixed and movable bridges and inspections.
• Prepare detailed plans and construction documents for assigned tasks.
• Perform engineering calculations to support plans and documents.
• Develop contract specs, bid documents, and technical reports.
• Occasional field site visits; coordinate disciplines and payment items.
