Job summary

HNTB Corporation in Connecticut seeks a Project Engineer to support and lead bridge and railroad structure projects across the Northeast. You’ll produce design calculations, technical reports, and plans, mentoring junior staff and coordinating with clients to meet project goals.

The role emphasizes leadership in design, rehabilitation, and inspections, with exposure to movable bridges, major rehabilitations, and complex interchanges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 6+ years of relevant experience, or Master's with 5+ years, or PhD with 4+ years.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred.
• Experience with bridge rehabilitation, replacement, inspections, and/or load ratings.
• Familiarity with CTDOT, Metro-North Railroad, and Amtrak standards and project delivery processes.

Responsibilities

• Plan and distribute discipline-specific work and manage schedule and budget on projects.
• Assist with marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.
• Develop scope of work and level of effort for projects assigned within discipline.
• Oversee completeness and accuracy of project team’s work and mentor junior staff.
