VHB is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer/Project Manager in Wethersfield, CT to lead bridge-focused projects. The role combines planning, analysis, and detailing with client oversight and team mentorship, guiding complex transportation structures from concept to final design.

You will mentor staff, manage design teams, and contribute to business development while collaborating across offices. Hybrid work is available, with emphasis on delivering high-quality structural solutions.

Qualifications

• 8–11 years of professional experience in structural bridge design and related projects.
• PE license required with structural emphasis preferred.
• Experience with design reports, contract plans, and AASHTO/DOT procedures.
• Independent bridge design and detailing experience, including seismic analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, analysis, design, and detailing of bridge and related structures.
• Prepare proposals, contracts, and manage technical approach, costs, and schedule.
• Maintain client relationships, visibility, and business development.
• Direct and mentor team members in design plans, calculations, load ratings, and reports.
• Oversee project/task management and ensure scope, schedule, cost, and quality.
