Job summary

Stantec invites a motivated Structural Engineer to join our New Haven or Hartford, CT offices, contributing to major bridge and transportation projects across North America. The role emphasizes leadership, design excellence, and collaboration within a dynamic structures team.

The candidate will oversee contract documents, perform load ratings, and mentor junior engineers, with opportunities for client coordination and project management.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer in Connecticut.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in structural design/analysis of bridges and transportation structures.
• Proficiency in STAAD, CSI, SAP or similar tools; CTDOT standards familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design and preparation of contract documents for new bridges and rehabilitation projects.
• Perform load rating analysis of existing bridges.
• Create design calculations, drawings, and details for bridge projects.
• Mentor and guide junior structural engineers.
• Review shop drawings and coordinate with design team; site visits as needed.
• Assist with project management: budget tracking, staffing, quality reviews, and safety compliance.
• Coordinate with clients to deliver projects on time and within budget.
