Job summary
VHB is seeking a Senior Technical Bridge/QA Engineer to join our hybrid team in the Boston area. You will lead the technical design of bridge and transportation structures, mentor staff, and ensure quality across planning, analysis, and detailing for railroad and highway projects.
The role requires 15+ years in structural bridge design, PE license, and MassDOT/MBTA standards experience. Boston/Watertown salary range is $170,000-$230,000; Worcester range is $160,000-$220,000, with compensation
Qualifications
- 15+ years of professional experience in structural bridge design and complex projects.
- MassDOT/MBTA experience is preferred.
- PE license is required.
- BS in Civil/Structural Engineering is required.
- Master’s degree with structural emphasis is a plus.
- Experience completing transportation studies and design documents.
Responsibilities
- Oversees the technical design of structural engineering projects.
- Directs and mentors team members on design plans and calculations.
- Performs quality reviews to ensure scope, schedule, cost, and quality.
- Manages planning, analysis, and detailing for bridge-focused projects.
