Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer for our Reno/Carson City, Nevada office. You will provide leadership within the Transportation Team, directing structural design and overseeing projects from concept through construction.

Ideal candidates bring 12+ years of bridge-focused experience, a PE license, and strong knowledge of seismic design. The role involves coordinating with state agencies, managing budgets, and guiding junior staff to deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering is required.
• MS in Civil Engineering with bridge-focused background is preferred.
• 12+ years of post-education experience in structural design with emphasis on bridges.
• NDOT/Nevada agencies experience; RTCs, Counties, and Cities is preferred.
• Engineering license required (PE).
• Strong knowledge of seismic modeling, assessment, and design of bridges.
• High proficiency in structural engineering principles and related disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive leadership for the structural engineering discipline within the Transportation Team.
• Assist in management of transportation projects.
• Apply advanced structural engineering techniques across project phases including conception, design, procurement and construction.
• Serve as project manager and coordinate with owners, sub-consultants, and clients.
• Develop and execute long-term strategy and pipeline development for Nevada structures work.
• Ensure projects meet quality, budget, and schedule targets; supervise subcontractors and staff.
• Coordinate with the district structures management team and external agencies.
• Lead large-scale bridge/structure projects with staffing and budgeting oversight.
