Job summary

The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. (MSG) is seeking an Experienced Bridge Engineer to lead the design and delivery of bridge and retaining wall projects across Michigan, with opportunities to expand across state lines.

This hybrid role offers flexibility to work remotely and requires periodic office visits to Michigan or Ohio offices. You will contribute to the Transportation and Structural Engineering team, manage projects, mentor engineers, and ensure QA/QC while working to MDOT and AASHTO

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 8+ years of bridge design and structural engineering experience.
• Michigan PE license required.
• Experience with MDOT and MDOT LAP projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform bridge and retaining wall design in accordance with MDOT and AASHTO standards.
• Contribute to the full project lifecycle from concept through construction.
• Prepare layouts, quantity calculations, and construction specifications.
• Perform QA/QC reviews to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and manage project communications.
• Mentor and support other engineers while growing leadership and technical expertise.
