Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. (VHB) invites applications for a Senior Technical Bridge/QA Engineer. Based in MA with a hybrid work model, you will lead structural bridge design, analysis, and detailing across railroad and highway projects, mentoring staff and ensuring design quality.

You bring 15+ years in bridge design, PE licensure, and strong technical writing, with MassDOT experience preferred. The role offers a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of professional experience in structural bridge design, construction phasing, and complex bridge/transportation projects.
• MassDOT/MBTA experience is preferred.
• PE license required.
• BS in Civil/Structural Engineering required.
• MS degree with structural emphasis a plus.
• Experience completing transportation studies, design reports, final design documents and developing contract plans, in conformity with accepted engineering standards and procedures.
• Independent experience developing bridge design and detailing (steel, concrete, prestressed concrete), and seismic analysis.

• Directs and mentors team members in the development of design plans, technical oversight, specifications, design calculations, load ratings, cost estimates, reports, final bid packages, etc.
• Performs quality reviews of team members work for accuracy and to ensure that the production of plans, specifications, reports, and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
• Manages, develops, organizes, and implements structural planning, analysis, preliminary and final design document preparation for bridge-focused transportation projects.

VHB's Structures group is seeking a Senior Technical Bridge/QC engineer to expand our structural practice/capabilities across the footprint. In this senior technical role, you'll be an integral part of the planning, analysis, design, and detailing of bridge and other transportation related structural projects, from railroad to highway, as well as mentoring our structural team.

In this position, you would serve in a lead role overseeing the technical design of structural engineering projects in our bridge and structures group. The role will include oversight and mentoring our engineering staff on best practices for planning, analysis, design, and detailing of bridge and other transportation related structural projects.

The full-time annual base salary range for this position is $170,000 to $230,000. The base salary offered will be determined based on job-related factors, including geographic location, internal equity, experience, credentials, skills, education, work schedule, and other factors permitted by law. The posted salary range reflects base pay only. Additional compensation and benefits available to eligible employees are outlined in our Total Rewards Program.

Annual base salary is one component of VHB's Total Rewards package. In addition to base pay, eligible employees may receive annual incentive compensation bonuses, spot bonuses, and merit-based salary increases, providing opportunities to increase earnings beyond base pay.
