Job summary

CTL Engineering, Inc. in North Carolina is seeking a Sr. Bridge Engineer to lead and manage bridge design projects from conception through completion, ensuring safety, compliance with NCDOT standards, and dependable performance.

You will design, analyze, and review bridge structures, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams while staying aligned with budget and schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Master’s degree (MSCE) preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of North Carolina is required.
• 10 to 15+ years of experience in bridge engineering, with a focus on NCDOT projects.
• Extensive knowledge of NCDOT design standards, specifications, and procedures.
• Proficiency in bridge design software (e.g., LARSA, Merlin Dash, Leap Bridge).
• Familiarity with detailing software such as Microstation and OpenBridge is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee bridge design and analysis projects in accordance with NCDOT requirements.
• Perform structural analysis and design for various types of bridge structures, including new constructions, widening and rehabilitations.
• Prepare and review engineering reports, drawings, and specifications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ensure projects adhere to budgetary and scheduling constraints.
• Conduct field inspections and evaluations of existing bridge conditions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior Engineers and staff.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NCDOT policies, guidelines, and industry best practices.
