Job summary

CTL Engineering in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Sr. Bridge Engineer to lead bridge design and analysis projects from concept through completion, ensuring safety and compliance with NCDOT standards and guidelines.

The role requires strong leadership in design teams, effective communication, and thorough knowledge of current bridge design software and industry best practices. You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, review reports and drawings, and help deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of North Carolina is required.
• 10 to 15+ years of experience in bridge engineering, with a focus on NCDOT projects.
• Extensive knowledge of NCDOT design standards, specifications, and procedures.
• Proficiency in bridge design software (e.g., LARSA, Merlin Dash, Leap Bridge).
• Familiarity with detailing software such as Microstation and OpenBridge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee bridge design and analysis projects in accordance with NCDOT requirements.
• Perform structural analysis and design for various types of bridge structures, including new constructions, widening and rehabilitations.
• Prepare and review engineering reports, drawings, and specifications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ensure projects adhere to budgetary and scheduling constraints.
• Conduct field inspections and evaluations of existing bridge conditions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior Engineers and staff.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NCDOT policies, guidelines, and industry best practices.
