Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Major Crossings Design-Build Principal to lead pursuit, planning and execution of bridge and transportation projects. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, develop execution plans, and foster client relationships across the US.

The role requires 15+ years in transportation infrastructure, a PE license, and proven Design-Build experience with high-value projects. Travel to multiple offices is expected in a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration is required.
• Minimum 15+ years of experience managing complex multidisciplinary highway and bridge infrastructure projects.
• Experience as Design Manager, Project Manager, or senior design leader on major transportation projects.
• Proven Design-Build or alternative delivery experience on projects >$500M.
• Experience implementing QA/QC programs.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management.
• Willingness to travel or co-locate with project teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead coordination and delivery of design services on large, complex Design-Build projects.
• Promote Design-Build/alternative delivery capabilities across markets; represent the company at client meetings.
• Mentor bridge and highway design managers; drive best practices.
• Oversee pursuit-phase activities including proposal development and ATC development.
• Build and maintain relationships with contractors, agencies, owners and stakeholders.
• Direct multidisciplinary teams across multiple offices and locations.
• Coordinate with project controls, scheduling, and construction to meet scope, schedule and budget.
• Ensure quality management, client engagement and efficient resource use.
• Oversee contract administration, financial performance, invoicing, and profitability.
• Develop execution plans, staffing and resources per project phase.
• Lead Project Engineers, Engineers and Specialists to ensure safe, efficient delivery.
• Monitor schedules, budgets, forecasts and metrics across all disciplines.
• Ensure compliance with contracts and perform cost management.
• Lead large, complex assignments requiring strategic thinking and senior stakeholder management.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, regulators and partners for successful outcomes.
