Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Major Crossings Design-Build Principal to lead pursuit, planning, and execution of large bridge and transportation projects across the US. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, manage client relationships, and drive the integration of design and construction from pursuit through delivery.

The role emphasizes strategic leadership across Design-Build and alternative delivery, with a focus on major crossings and expanding Jacobs' presence in transportation markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration is required.
• 15+ years managing complex highway and bridge projects.
• Experience as Design Manager or senior design leader on transportation projects.
• Proven Design-Build or alternative delivery on projects > $500M.
• Experience implementing QA/QC programs.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management.
• Willingness to travel or co-locate with project teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design management for large, complex Design-Build and alt delivery projects.
• Champion DB/alt delivery capabilities across geographies and markets.
• Mentor bridge and highway design managers and promote best practices.
• Oversee pursuit activities including proposals and ATC development.
• Build relationships with contractors, agencies, and owners.
• Direct multidisciplinary teams across multiple offices and locations.
• Coordinate with controls, scheduling, and construction to monitor performance.
• Ensure quality management, client engagement, and resource efficiency.
• Oversee contract administration, budgets, and profitability.
• Develop execution plans, staffing strategies for each phase.
• Lead and coordinate project engineers, engineers and specialists.
• Monitor schedules, budgets, forecasts, and metrics across disciplines.
• Ensure contractual compliance and strong cost control.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, regulators and partners.
