Job summary

Discord is seeking a senior Brand Designer to lead the design of a scalable brand system for gaming and related products. You will own the brand vision and apply it across identity, typography, color, and motion in digital, physical, and marketing channels.

You\'ll collaborate with executives and designers, write governance, and mentor the Brand team while balancing consistency with creative experimentation. This is a rare chance to shape brand strategy at a large gaming community.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in brand or identity design.
• Portfolio showing identity, typography, color, iconography and motion across products and spaces.
• Proven brand strategy experience: positioning, architecture, sub-brand systems.
• Experience writing and governing brand guidelines over time.
• Comfort with ambiguity; able to hands-on work while setting direction.
• Proven ability to align stakeholders with clear reasoning and presentation skills.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools in brand work.

Responsibilities

• Define Discord's brand strategy and architecture across the master brand and sub-brands.
• Own and evolve Discord's visual identity system: logo, wordmark, color, typography, iconography, illustration, and motion.
• Build and maintain brand guidelines and governance models; enable teams to use the brand.
• Create templates, design kits, asset libraries, and a self-serve brand portal; run office hours and workshops.
• Review and approve brand-facing work across marketing, product, partnerships; work with Legal on trademarks.
• Apply the brand to core surfaces: app icons, marketing site, spaces, merch; art-direct external partners.
• Run an annual brand audit; monitor the competitive landscape; mentor Brand team members.
