Job summary

Discord is seeking a senior Brand Designer in San Francisco to own and evolve the company's visual identity across product, marketing, and partnerships.

You will define brand strategy, write guidelines, and partner with executives and design teams to ensure a coherent brand voice and assets across surfaces. This role reports to the Director of Brand, with experience at scale in gaming preferred and a hands-on leadership approach.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in brand or identity design.
• Portfolio across identity, typography, color, motion.
• Brand strategy work including positioning and sub-brand systems.
• Experience writing brand guidelines and governance models.
• Comfort with ambiguity and hands-on leadership.
• Strong ability to align stakeholders with clear reasoning.
• Experience using AI tools in brand work.

Responsibilities

• Define Discord's brand strategy and architecture across master and sub-brands.
• Own and evolve Discord's visual identity system, including logo and typography.
• Build and maintain brand and sub-brand guidelines and governance.
• Create templates, design kits, asset libraries, and a self-serve brand portal.
• Review brand-facing work across marketing, product, and partnerships; liaise with Legal.
• Apply branding on core surfaces: app icons, marketing site, merch, and spaces.
• Run annual brand audit and mentor future Brand team members.
