Job summary

Discord is seeking a seasoned Brand Designer to set vision and execute across identity systems. You will define strategy, own the visual language, and ensure coherence across product, marketing, partnerships, and legal. You will also build governance, brand portals, and templates to empower teams at scale.

You’ll work closely with executives and designers to guide branding decisions, write guidelines, and mentor teammates, while integrating AI thoughtfully into brand workflows.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in brand or identity design.
• Portfolio across identity, typography, color, illustration, and motion.
• Proven track record in brand strategy (positioning, architecture, sub-brands).
• Experience writing and governing brand guidelines.
• Comfort with ambiguity; hands-on execution.
• Ability to align executives with designers using clear reasoning.
• Hands-on experience with AI tools in brand work.

Responsibilities

• Define Discord's brand strategy and architecture across master and sub-brands.
• Own and evolve the visual identity system (logo, wordmark, color, typography, iconography, illustration, motion).
• Build and maintain brand guidelines and a self-serve portal.
• Create templates, asset libraries, and enable teams to use the brand independently.
• Review brand-facing work with marketing, product, partnerships, and legal.
• Art-direct external partners and apply brand on core surfaces.
• Run an annual brand audit and mentor future Brand team members.
