Job summary

TC Energy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead technical governance for Balance of Plant mechanical systems in gas facilities. You will drive standards, asset management strategies and cross-functional collaboration across North America.

The role emphasizes SME-level guidance, reliability improvements, and strategic impact within Facilities Reliability & Integrity Engineering Services. Hybrid work is offered across North America.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of progressive engineering experience in gas facilities, midstream operations, energy infrastructure, or related industry.
• Extensive knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards (e.g., CFR 192, CSA Z662, ASME B31.3/B31.8, ASME Section VIII, API pressure equipment).
• Experience in asset management, reliability engineering, risk-based decision making, maintenance optimization, and condition-based maintenance practices.
• Experience developing, maintaining, and governing engineering standards, specifications, and procedures.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills with collaboration across diverse stakeholder groups across North America.
• Sound engineering judgment and pragmatic technical decision making.

Responsibilities

• Serve as TC Energy's Technical Authority and SME for Balance of Plant mechanical systems and equipment.
• Act as document owner for engineering standards, drive development, maintenance and improvement of technical requirements.
• Evaluate and guide engineering standard variances and technical compliance matters.
• Maintain expertise in regulations, codes and standards; represent TC Energy on industry committees.
• Establish evaluation criteria and provide technical oversight of service providers, suppliers and vendors.
