Job summary

Tract Capital Management seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer focused on gas generation to design, validate, and optimize BTM generation systems and fuel-gas delivery. The role requires deep expertise in RICE, turbines, fuel cells, and gas interfaces, with emphasis on safety, compliance, and scalable deployments.

You will lead cross-functional efforts with utilities, vendors, and operations to deliver robust mechanical/gas solutions for large-scale projects, ensuring performance and reliability

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
• 8+ years in mechanical/gas systems engineering for industrial power generation or energy infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience designing mechanical and fuel-gas systems for gas-fired generation (regulation, metering, filtration, exhaust).
• Ability to develop/maintain BOD, standards, and typical deployment details for multi-site projects.
• Experience coordinating with gas utilities on capacity, pressure, metering, odorization, interconnection.
• Track record leading boiler/plant vendor integration to meet codes and internal standards.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical and fuel-gas design scope for BTM generation, including RICE, turbines, fuel cells, gas supply, and interfaces.
• Develop and maintain mechanical/gas BOD and design standards for repeatable deployments.
• Coordinate with gas utilities/service providers on capacity, pressure, metering, odorization, interconnection; support reviews.
• Lead balance-of-plant vendor coordination for gas skids, piping, regulators, exhaust systems; ensure compliance.
• Support hazard reviews (HAZOP/What-If), safety design, commissioning, and lifecycle planning.
• Define commissioning/acceptance requirements; support start-up, troubleshooting, and performance validation.
• Partner with EHS for permitting and compliance impacting mechanical and fuel systems.
• Support lifecycle planning and maintainability: access points, spares, and documentation for turnover.
