Job summary

Big Horn Heating & Cooling seeks a Senior Bookkeeper to oversee day-to-day accounting across multiple locations. You will manage accounts payable and receivable, the general ledger, and job costing, reporting to the President & CEO.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping or staff accounting experience, including responsibility for the month-end close.
• Experience with QuickBooks or a comparable small-business accounting system.
• Demonstrated experience reconciling multiple bank and credit card accounts each month.
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills, including lookups, pivot tables, and financial reconciliations.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate, organized, and well-documented financial records.
• Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize competing responsibilities, and work independently.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Preferred: experience in construction/HVAC or job-costing businesses; ServiceTitan or similar platform; WIP schedules; multi-location bookkeeping; payroll processing and reconciliation; degree progress toward accounting.

Responsibilities

• Own Full-Cycle Accounting across multiple locations, including AP/AR and GL accuracy.
• Lead the Monthly Close with reconciliations, entries, and timely statements.
• Maintain Accurate Job Costing and reconcile costs to the GL monthly.
• Support Financial Performance by reviewing costs against budgets and flagging variances.
• Manage Cash Flow with AR aging, vendor payments, and weekly forecasts.
• Support Payroll Accounting with inputs, allocations, and liabilities reconciliation.
• Maintain Compliance with sales/use tax, 1099 reporting, and year-end requests.
• Strengthen Internal Controls and implement scalable processes for growth.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows.
