Job summary

Ascendo Resources is assisting a fast-growing portfolio company in Denver, CO, in recruiting a Bookkeeper for a hybrid role reporting to the CFO. The position emphasizes QuickBooks experience and GAAP knowledge to manage accrual-based accounting across locations.

You will handle payroll, AP, cash management, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and multi-unit cost allocations, supporting multi-state operations with strong ledger accuracy.

Qualifications

• Experience with QuickBooks or QuickBooks Online required.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and accrual accounting.
• Proven ability to manage payroll, AP, cash management and bank reconciliations.
• Experience with multi-unit, hospitality, retail, or pet care services is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day financial accounting across multiple locations.
• Ensure ledger accuracy and balance sheet reconciliation integrity.
• Prepare journal entries and support month-end close.
• Support multi-state operations and cost allocations.

Our client, a fast growing private equity owned portfolio company that is experiencing hyper growth is looking to hire a Bookkeeper. The position is in South Denver, CO and will be a Hybrid work model.

• Reports to the CFO
• Must Have QuickBooks or QuickBooks Online Experience
• Lead day-to-day financial accounting across our growing portfolio of luxury pet resorts
• GAAP
• Payroll experience, AP, Cash Management, Bank recs, journal entries
• Multi-unit, multiple locations, hospitality, retail, or pet care services preferred
• QuickBooks Online, Rippling, Google Workspace, Goose POS
• Multi-State Operations
• Accounting Background: 3+ years of progressive full-charge bookkeeping or senior accounting experience, ideally within multi-unit hospitality or retail.
• Accrual Accounting Knowledge: Solid command of GAAP principles, accrual accounting methods, and multi-location cost allocation.
• Multi-State Exposure: Prior experience supporting operations across multiple states
• Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational skills with an uncompromising standard for ledger accuracy and balance sheet reconciliation integrity.
