Job summary

Miller Cooper seeks a Senior Bookkeeper in Gary, IN to manage full-cycle accounting, including billing, payables, receivables, and reporting. You will support month-end close, maintain the general ledger, and provide analysis to aid decision-making.

The role requires 5+ years of bookkeeping, strong Excel skills, and experience with ERP systems. Onsite work is required initially, with potential for hybrid scheduling after 90 days.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of progressive bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of full-cycle bookkeeping through month-end close.
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, accruals, payroll, and financial statement preparation.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Clear communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage complete accounting cycle, including AP/AR, invoicing, collections, cash receipts, and vendor payments.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules.
• Maintain general ledger and ensure timely, accurate transactions.
• Support month-end close, reports, and ad hoc analyses for management.
• Collaborate with operations on cost drivers, inventory movement, and process improvements.
