Job summary

Morales Group Staffing, on behalf of a family-owned Indianapolis manufacturer serving global aerospace and power-generation markets, is seeking a Staff Accountant to support monthly close, journal entries, and financial reporting. Based on-site in Indianapolis, you will partner with Finance and Operations to turn accounting data into actionable insights.

Key duties include reconciliations, inventory analysis, budgeting support, audit documentation, and cross-department collaboration.

Qualifications

• Relevant accounting experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Manufacturing experience preferred; inventory accounting and cost analysis experience a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ERP or accounting software experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end close, prepare and post journal entries, and maintain accurate general ledger records.
• Reconcile balance sheet and inventory accounts, investigate discrepancies, and maintain supporting schedules.
• Prepare financial reports and account analysis; explain significant changes and variances to management.
• Support budgeting and forecasting, compare actual results with plans, and assist with cash flow projections.
• Analyze inventory obsolescence, job costs, and gross margins to support operational decisions.
• Prepare audit documentation and support accurate reporting and established internal controls.
• Assist with AP invoice matching and payroll uploads; cross-train and provide backup support for AR and other Finance processes.
