Job summary

Morales Professional, a morales group company, is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant in Indianapolis to support month-end close, journal entries, and general ledger integrity. You will partner with Finance and operations to turn accounting data into actionable insights.

Manufacturing and aerospace exposure is valued, with training provided on internal controls. You will prepare financial reports, analyze variances, assist with budgeting and cash flow projections, and help with inventory cost

Qualifications

• Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Manufacturing or aerospace inventory accounting a plus.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end close, prepare and post journal entries, and maintain accurate general ledger records.
• Reconcile balance sheet and inventory accounts, investigate discrepancies, and maintain supporting schedules.
• Prepare financial reports and account analysis; explain significant changes and variances to management.
• Support budgeting and forecasting, compare actual results with plans, and assist with cash flow projections.
• Analyze inventory obsolescence, job costs, and gross margins to support operational decisions.
• Prepare audit documentation and support accurate reporting and established internal controls.
• Assist with AP invoice matching and payroll uploads; cross-train and provide backup support for AR and other Finance processes.

Its operations combine precision machining, metal fabrication, welding, and advanced inspection to produce complex engine components. As Senior Staff Accountant, you will support accurate financial reporting and partner with Finance and operations to turn accounting data into useful business insights.

What You Will Do as a Senior Staff Accountant

• Support month-end close, prepare and post journal entries, and maintain accurate general ledger records.

What You Bring

• Relevant accounting experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close required.
• Manufacturing or aerospace experience preferred; inventory accounting and cost analysis experience a plus.
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ERP or accounting software experience preferred.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage deadlines and collaborate across departments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
