Job summary

United Therapeutics seeks a Senior Boiler Operator, Engineering & Maintenance, to own maintenance of boilers, chillers, steam and wastewater systems in a 100% onsite facility in Silver Spring, MD. You will troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance, and lead technicians to ensure continuous, compliant operations.

You will mentor staff, oversee safety programs, and coordinate with vendors, while maintaining documentation in CMMS and adhering to SOPs.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Active Maryland Stationary Engineer Grade 1 license or DC 3rd Class Engineer certification.
• Waste water treatment license in Maryland required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for boilers, wastewater treatment, chillers, and steam systems.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair facility equipment.
• Perform daily safety inspections of high‑pressure systems and related equipment.
• Maintain water chemistry and ensure cGMP compliance.
• Document work in CMMS and follow SOPs and safety guidelines.
• Assist in training junior technicians and mentoring contractors.
• Participate in after‑hours on‑call rotation to ensure continuous operations.
